About
My interest in design started during my early teens. I’d just discovered the Internet, the possibilities and potential that it afforded to me and started experimenting, learning HTML and created a few little ‘projects’ for myself. Over the years, I continued developing my skills, learning CSS and some PHP, focusing more on the development side of the web as this is what I was exposed to at that age and what I thought was 'web design' which linked with my keen interest in computing.
Over time my interest in computing, programming and web development waned and my focus turned to traditional design methods. An important process which is, sadly, often forgotten for the web. This led me to a more formal education in Graphic Design. I still practice XHTML and CSS as I believe it's important for those who design for the web to be able to understand how to implement their work and learn the constraints that exist and how to overcome them in their solutions. This also gives me a broader skill-set allowing me to offer a more complete solution.
I have a passion for clear and simple yet clever and witty design. I love seeing and creating work with a strong concept, great imagery and beautiful typography. I am currently looking for clients who share this passion and want fresh ideas and solutions for website design, branding or print.
In my spare time I enjoy motorsport. I am a fan of the British Touring Car Championship and regularly attend race meetings with my camera. As well as shooting motorsport, I explore the landscapes round the Peak District as well as experimenting with abstract work.
I look forward to your enquiry.
